Last Paladin in 2006

Seems like posts here are becoming few and far between. Sadly that's due to time in my schedule as other jobs and assignments fill my day while waiting to get the next installment of the Last Paladin done turned in.

As it stands right now DWP #31 will be on schedule for a September release. Look for it in the next issue of Diamond's Preview catalog out the last week of July. Following the big Fist of Justice/Paladin crossover will be the six pager which could make it into DWP #32 for Nov/Dec of this year.

After that we hope to be able to bring you at least one feature, maybe two, and a few more shorts in 2007.

The Last Paladin continues to be well received even six months after the last story hit the stands. The guys over at Comic Geek Speak recently reviewed a few issues of Digital Webbing Presents including DWP #26. Overall the issues got good recommendations from the guys and they even went so far as to compare Last Paladin to a classic issue of Thor. I'll take that as high praise.

You can listen to the podcast here: http://www.comicgeekspeak.com/episodedetail.asp?episodeid=179 and check the guys out at http://www.comicgeekspeak.com/

Finally, in an effort to keep this blog from going 2, 3, 4, weeks or more with out any kind of an update, I want you guys out there to tell me what you want to see on here. More behind the scenes? More art? Do you like the silence? Let me know and i'll make every effort to accommodate you.

Till then...

Art is *always* a good thing! Sketches and inside looks at what changes you had to make as you worked on the stories (ie. changes in plot, changes in art, etc).

Stuff like that.....

Dude, just babble. Doesn't need to be LP specific since that's in limbo anyways. ;)

The two of you seem to be the only regular contributors to this little space of mine on the web and Im not sure Eduke counts since he's the guy publishing the books.

Ive debated including info on other projects here but since the crossover was pushed back a month and things are indeed in a holding pattern for the moment it might not be a bad idea.

Rest assured though, the Last Paladin is far from ending.

Like I stated above, Sunday comic style comics would be a kick!

You could also talk a little about your intentions for the character over time, what you expect to do with him in the Future.
Once the plot reaches it's conclusion where will you go from there, what characters will you have supporting Paladin or will he be like Bill Bixby in the Incredible Hulk TV Series, a vagabond searching for a purpose beyond his obligation to the princess meeting new people and experiencing new adventures.

Or will he be stationary, with Zack continuing his work in medicine while the Paladin earns a name as a home town hero.

Take this time while things are light to develop some new ideas and characters, villains and post those ideas here develop them and get feedback.

With enough ground work, you could pitch the title as an ongoing series to various publishing houses and really build some fanfare for the character.

Next thing you know, you're walking down the red carpet with a pneumatic, money grubbing gold digger on your arm at the Hollywood premier of the Last Paladin Feature Film, which would then open to a 250 million dollar opening weekend garnering impossible to deny sequels and merchandising deals.

Think of the possibilities!

What do we want? . . . What do you want?
EJ
